Project Role

Research assistant

Tom is a mixed methods researcher, using quantative spatial analysis to understand trends in social datasets. After completing a Masters of Geography, he worked as a research assistant and field technician on various ARC funded projects at the University of Melbourne, the University of Queensland and Griffith University (QLD), as well as acting as a private environmental/geomorphic consultant. Currently he works at the Social Impact Research Institute (Swinburne University) where he builds quantitative spatial models examining trends in rural mental health and community connection. The CEDRR project acts to complement Tom’s recent research interest in examining how experience and participation can be used to prompt behavioral change, which he is explores using science-art collaboration.
